Goal.com & Castrol Football Partnership Announcement
Followers to benefit from Castrol Rankings...
The Castrol Rankings system assesses each player's influence on the game and the positive or negative effect each touch of the ball has on their team's chances of scoring or conceding a goal; the Castrol Rankings covers Europe's top five leagues - Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 as well as the Champions League for those teams in the top 5 leagues.
While other football rankings are based on opinion, Castrol has applied the same expertise they apply to the development of their oils to create the Castrol Rankings – using objective analysis and highly advanced technology to measure every pass, every tackle and every single move of over 2000 players and games every year.
It means that Goal.com’s loyal users can now compare the performances of players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Lionel Messi every month thanks to the world's first rolling 12 month ranking system. The Castrol Rankings player of the season will then be revealed at the end of May.
The Goal.com team will be utilising the Castrol Rankings to fuel their debates, looking at the Rankings and the form players ahead of crucial fixtures coming up, and using the Castrol Rankings tools such as the Debate Settler and Team Follower.
As one of the 2010 FIFA World Cup's official sponsors, Castrol will also use the Castrol FIFA World Cup™ Predictor to predict the outcome of the tournament in South Africa, and Goal.com will be using it to look into each side's chances of lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy in July.
