The Spain striker will play no part against Leicester City after the manager became involved in a dispute with the Blues' medical staff this week

Diego Costa has been dropped by Chelsea following a row with manager Antonio Conte, Goal can confirm.

The striker will play no part in the Blues' visit to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday after disputing the extent of an injury with the club's medical staff.

Chelsea silent on Costa bust-up claims

Conte became involved in the argument and has subsequently decided Costa will not be involved in the match at the King Power Stadium.

Costa is also understood to have received a huge offer from China - with reports claiming the salary package is worth £30 million a year - which he has in turn leveraged against Chelsea in order to land improved terms to his current deal.

The Blues, however, will play hardball in negotiations with the Spaniard, who is under contract until the summer of 2019, and have no intention of bowing to his demands.

Costa was strongly linked with a return to Atletico Madrid in the summer and appeared keen to depart west London to join his former club, but Chelsea refused to sell.

He has since been in tremendous form and seemed to be working well with Conte, leading the Premier League scoring charts with 14 goals.

West Ham decide to sell Payet

But the Brazil-born player is notoriously hotheaded and prone to outbursts, on and off the pitch, and his future at Chelsea now appears to be back in question.

Chelsea refused to comment on the story when approached by Goal.
