The versatile Netherlands international inherits the shirt number last worn by Nani, who has left Old Trafford for a season-long loan deal with Sporting Lisbon
New Manchester United
signing Daley Blind
will wear the No.17 shirt at Old Trafford.
The former Ajax defender, signed for £14 million on transfer deadline day, inherits the jersey from Portuguese winger Nani, who has joined Sporting Lisbon on loan for the 2014-15 campaign.
Blind could make his United debut against QPR on September 14 after joining up with the Netherlands squad for their upcoming fixtures against Italy and the Czech Republic.
The versatile 24-year-old, who can play at left-back or in midfield, is the son of Ajax legend Danny Blind and was named his country's Footballer of the Year last season as the Amsterdam club claimed a 33rd championship.
