thumbnail Hello,

The Spain international has yet to find a new club since parting company with Barcelona at the end of last season but his representative is remaining upbeat

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes will have signed for a "big team" by Christmas, according to the player's agent.

The Spain international has been without a club since his Barcelona contract expire this summer, with a proposed move to Monaco having fallen through because of the knee injury that ruled him out of Brazil 2014.

With Valdes still undergoing rehabilitation, the 32-year-old appears no nearer to finding a new home, but his representative, Gines Carvajal, is not worried at this stage and remains hopeful he will be ready by December.

"One can sign at any time and I'm sure we'll see Valdes at a big team before Christmas," he told Cadena Ser's 'El Larguero'.

"The recovery is going well, but we do now yet know when he will be cleared [to return to action]."

Valdes came through the youth team ranks at Barcelona and spent 12 years in the first team before deciding against signing a contract extension last season.
