Max Meyer has insisted that he is happy at Schalke amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea and is not thinking about leaving the Bundesliga outfit any time soon.

The 18-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of the biggest talents around in his age category and impressed at the Veltins Arena in 2013-14, scoring six goals in 30 league appearances.

His fine performances have not gone unnoticed elsewhere, but Meyer has ruled out a move abroad as he is content at his current club.

"Arsenal and Chelsea interest? That doesn't really affect me. I completely ignore it," Meyer told Goal when asked about a potential move abroad.

"I am not thinking about interest from other teams when I go out there on the pitch. Of course, it's flattering in some way because it's conformation that you're doing well. But it doesn't affect me.

"I don't care about interest from other teams because I'm feeling very well at Schalke. There's absolutely no reason for me to leave Schalke at this stage, so I ignore all rumours."

Meyer, who is under contract until 2018, went on to stress that he's not even thinking about a move abroad at a later stage in his career either, explaining that he never likes to look too far ahead.

"A move abroad in the future is not on my mind at the moment," he declared. "I am feeling great at Schalke and in Germany. I feel at home here and all my friends and family are here.

"Plus, I'm playing for a great team. I got the chance to play in the Bundesliga here and I'm really enjoying myself.

"A transfer is not an option for me. I am not thinking about what will happen in two or three years. I live in the here and now."
