Stuart Pearce's side have had a £3 million move for the former Bristol City forward turned down and will not make an improved offer for the Ghana international
Middlesbrough have rejected a £3 million bid from Nottingham Forest for Ghana international Albert Adomah, Goal can reveal.
Forest returned with an improved bid for the forward after having an initial offer turned down by their Championship counterparts.
And the Midlands club have indicated to Middlesbrough that they will not further increase their offer for the 26-year-old.
The Teesside outfit are now hopeful of signing Adomah to a new contract, but may also need to fend off interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Adomah joined Middlesbrough from Bristol City in the summer of 2013 and scored 12 goals in the Championship last season.
The forward went to the 2014 World Cup with Ghana but featured just once as a second half substitute in a 2-1 defeat to USA.
