The Turkish outfit's president revealed that the side are yet to receive any offers for the Dutchman, whom coach Cesare Prandelli has insisted is an important part of his team

Galatasaray have scared off reported suitors Monaco and Manchester United for Wesley Sneijder, according to club president Unal Aysal.

The playmaker's coach under Netherlands at the World Cup, Louis van Gaal, has taken over at Manchester United - whom have long been linked with a move from the 30-year-old - but are rumoured to have baulked at Sneijder's £17.3m release clause.

Monaco are hardly short on cash, however, and their bank accounts will be newly lined with the £63m they received from Real Madrid for James Rodriguez on Tuesday.

But Aysal confirmed that offers have not yet been tabled for Sneijder or his Galatasaray team-mate Fernando Muslera, who was Uruguay's goalkeeper at the 2014 World Cup, this summer.

"With regards to Muslera and Sneijder we have not received an offer for either player," Aysal told Turkish-Football.com. "Both these players are very important to our team and as a result we value them accordingly.

"We won't release these players for any less than our asking price and that has scared a few interested parties away.

"If a club wants either of these players they are going to have to pay up as we are obliged to listen to any offers which meet their release clause. If their release clause is activated there is nothing we can do."

New Galatasaray coach, Cesare Prandelli, stressed that Sneijder is part of his plans and says he is working towards finding the perfect balance to form a championship-winning team.

"I consider Sneijder a very important member of my team," he told reporters. "In training, all of the players are proving very helpful, which makes me very happy.

"Our goal is to build a winning team - we want to have the right balance between defence and attack, and to build a team that will do well against any opponent. I am convinced I made the right choice coming to Galatasaray."
