Galatasaray have entered negotiations with former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, the club have confirmed.

The 56-year-old left his post as Azzurri boss immediately after they were eliminated from the World Cup group stages, when defeats to Uruguay and Costa Rica ensured they failed to reach the last-16 of the competition.

Meanwhile, the Turkish giants are looking to recruit a new coach following the departure of Roberto Mancini after they finished second in the Turkish league.

And Galatasaray have released a statement on their official website confirming that they are looking to reach an agreement with the former Fiorentina coach ahead of next season.

The statement read: "Our professional football team have started talks with experienced Italian coach Cesare Prandelli, the public will be informed of developments."

Galatasary will play in the Champions League next year after Fenerbahce were expelled from all European competitions.
