Keane, 21, was said to be considering his options amid interest from other Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham, as well as Serie A pair AC Milan and Inter.

But Goal understands Keane is set to pledge his future to United and sign a new contract after lengthy talks with club officials.

The England Under-21 striker is out-of-contract at Old Trafford and United's hierarchy have been working hard to persuade Keane to shun interest from elsewhere and remain at the club.

Keane, who has come through the United ranks alongside his twin-brother Michael, is very highly-regarded at the club.

United will be delighted to tie Keane down to a new deal after seeing Paul Pogba, another Old Trafford youth product, leave the club for Juventus.

Keane made his senior United debut as a substitute in the shock 3-2 defeat to Blackburn at Old Trafford in December 2011.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan in the Championship, first with Wigan, before joining promoted QPR and featuring 10 times for Harry Redknapp's side.
