Liverpool forward Luis Alberto joins Malaga on loan

The former Sevilla startlet will return to Spain having made just nine Premier League appearances during his debut campaign, with Emre Can's arrival creating more competition
Liverpool winger Luis Alberto has joined Malaga on a season-long loan after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at Anfield.

7/1 Liverpool are 7/1 with bet365 to win the title next season
The 21-year-old joined from Sevilla 12 months ago, but made just nine Premier League appearances as Brendan Rodgers's side finished as runners-up to champions Manchester City.

And with Emre Can already signed from Bayer Leverkusenn and fellow attacking midfielders Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri on Rodgers's radar, the youngster moved further down the pecking order at Anfield.

Goal understands Liverpool have opened talks with Bayern Munich regarding a £15 million move for Shaqiri while they retain hope of signing Southampton captain Lallana despite having a £25m bid rejected.

Alberto will make his La Liga debut on arrival in Spain, with his only league experience in his home country coming with Barcelona 'B' in Segunda Division.
