Chelsea target Pogba will sign new Juventus contract - Marotta

Jose Mourinho has identified the 21-year-old as the ideal partner for Nemanja Matic in midfield next season but the Italian giants remain convinced he will stay
Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta insists the club are confident they can tie Chelsea target Paul Pogba to a new contract "very soon".

Goal revealed on Wednesday that Jose Mourinho has made the 21-year-old his top transfer target as he hopes to secure a marquee midfielder to partner Nemanja Matic next season.

But Marotta is adamant that Pogba, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and is believed to be open to the possibility of a return to the Premier League, will commit his future to the club.

"I'm absolutely sure that we'll manage to get him to sign a new contract very soon," he told reporters.

Marotta was also bullish about the possibility of Pogba's midfield partner Arturo Vidal leaving Juventus for Real Madrid this summer, insisting there has been no contact between the clubs.

"Real Madrid showed interest in Vidal, but never made a formal offer," he added.

"We are going to keep our players, as long as they want to stay here."

Turning his attention to transfer targets, Marotta admitted that Juve are keen on Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez.

"We like him very much but we didn't make any formal move so far," the 57-year-old explained.
