thumbnail Hello,

The 31-year-old has committed himself to BVB for a further two seasons and is determined to repay the faith the club have shown in him with his performances next season

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Oliver Kirch has extended his contract to the end of the 2015-16 season.

Kirch arrived at Signal Iduna Park from Kaiserslautern in 2012 and has made 12 appearances in two seasons for Jurgen Klopp's men.

Despite his lack of game time, Klopp described Kirch as undergoing "the greatest development of a 31-year-old I've ever seen".

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is delighted that Kirch, whose initial contract was due to expire at the end of this season, has committed himself to the club.

"What Oliver Kirch has shown in recent weeks and months is exceptional," Zorc is quoted as saying on the Bundesliga’s official website.

"He's an enlivening factor within the team and fits in perfectly at Borussia Dortmund, both in a sporting sense and as a person."

The 31-year-old is also very happy to have sorted out his future and he has pledged to do his best to help bring success to BVB next season.

"I'd like to thank the club for the faith they've shown in me and the opportunity to be able to measure up to world class players at this level every single day," the midfielder added.

"I will do everything I can to be able to celebrate even more success next season."
