The 21-year-old forward impressed during a loan spell with Birmingham and has now joined their Championship rivals until the end of the 2013-14 campaignManchester United forward Jesse Lingard has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan, both clubs have confirmed.
The 21-year-old joins the promotion-chasing Seagulls on a 93-day loan, with Brighton revealing they had beaten off interest from rival Championship clubs to secure the signing of the England Under-21 international.
The United starlet, who impressed during the club's tour of Asia back in July, will be eligible to feature in the Championship play-off semi-final and final, should Brighton, who are eighth in the table, secure a spot.
Brighton boss Oscar Garcia told the club's official website: "We are delighted we have finally secured Jesse until the end of the season. He is one of the most exciting young English strikers and has already created a lot of interest following his successful loan spell at Birmingham City earlier this season.
"We worked hard to secure a talent who has already shown he can play at Championship level, and I am very pleased to have added Jesse to our striking options for the rest of the season.
"He has an excellent pedigree, having come through the academy at Old Trafford, and there is no doubt that he has a lot of talent and ability; I am really looking forward to working with him.
"There were many clubs interested in signing him, so we are very grateful to David Moyes and all those at Manchester United for allowing him to come to us here at Brighton & Hove Albion."
Lingard was previously on loan with Brighton's Championship rivals Birmingham City, where he scored four goals on his debut for Lee Clark's side before returning to United in January.
