The Germany midfielder's representative insists his client's only focus is recovering full fitness and maintains discussions over a possible new deal must wait
The Germany international's contract expires at the end of next season and he has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Real Madrid this summer.
However, his representative insists that they will speak to BVB before making a decision either way and is eager for his son to recover from a lengthy back injury before discussing his future.
"Everything is open. Dortmund are our first point of contact," he told Kicker.
"We do not want to burden the boy with that. Ilkay must get healthy first. We will definitely sit together after that."
Gundogan has made just three appearanes for Dortmund this season, having picked up his troublesome back problem while playing for Germany in August.
