The 32-year-old's contract runs out in June, after which he plans on leaving the club, but reports suggested that the Blaugrana had made a last-ditch effort to change his mindBarcelona have hit back at reports that the club have offered goalkeeper Victor Valdes a new contract.
Last season the Spain goalkeeper announced his decision to leave the Blaugrana when his current deal expires at the end of the campaign.
But Radio Marca claimed that the reigning Primera Division champions had attempted to change the 32-year-old's mind one last time.
A statement from club sources said: "FC Barcelona categorically denies the information released [on Friday] afternoon by Radio Marca in relation to a new contract offer for Victor Valdes.
"The club respects the decision taken by the player. We would like to show our gratitude, once again, for the commitment and professionalism he shows day in, day out."
Barcelona have been linked with a host of potential replacements for Valdes, including Borussia Monchengladbach's Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
