The World Cup winner admits he would welcome a new addition in midfield but says that, overall, he is happy with his lot and is not anticipating any January arrivalsLaurent Blanc has said that he is happy with his Paris Saint-Germain squad and does not believe new signings are necessary during the winter transfer window.
The reigning French champions are top of Ligue 1 and also eased through to the Champions League knockout phase, where they will face Bayer Leverkusen, but have been linked with Juventus' Paul Pogba, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard and Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
However, Blanc believes his squad already has the requisite quality to compete for European glory as well as domestic honours, though he did admit that he would not be against a new midfielder arriving before the end of January.
"If I finish the season with the group I have I'll be happy," the World Cup winner told reporters on Friday.
"If the group remains as it is, [this] is fine ... But if we add a midfielder that's even better."
However, the former France defender's priority is to ensure that none of his current stars exit during this window.
Midfielder Blaise Matuidi, whose contract expires in June, has been linked with a move away from Paris, but Blanc is determined to retain the 26-year-old's services.
"I want Blaise Matuidi to continue at Paris Saint-Germain," the PSG coach stated.
