Arsenal the best English club for Draxler, say Goal readers

A majority of responses to our poll argued that the Gunners - described by the Schalke star as "a very, very nice team" - would fit him better than the likes of Manchester United
Schalke starlet Julian Draxler would be better off joining Arsenal than any other Premier League club, say a majority of Goal readers.

The Germany international has ruled out any chance of a move in January as he focuses on regular first-team football ahead of the World Cup but a summer switch is on the cards.

Draxler described the Gunners as "a very, very nice team" after Joachim Low's side beat England at Wembley on Tuesday and Goal understands that the north Londoners did make an enquiry last summer – though they were put off by Schalke's £40 million asking price.

Should they renew their interest, however, 50.9 per cent of readers believe that Arsenal would be the ideal English destination for the young midfielder.

As exclusively revealed by Goal on Wednesday, Manchester United have joined the spread of elite clubs chasing Draxler and are hopeful of being able to put a deal together next summer, an idea backed by 32.4% of responses to our poll.

Chelsea are also in the mix – the young star turned down the chance to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Blues this year – but, despite their continued interest, only 7.8% of readers feel that breaking through the club's massed ranks of attacking midfielders would be best for Draxler.

Indeed, 8.9% argued that another English team altogether would be better for him, though nothing concrete has emerged on other fronts.
