The 22-year-old attacker says that being in the Blaugrana squad is "a dream come true" but he knows that he has plenty of players ahead of him in the pecking order at Camp Nou
The 22-year-old attacker broke into the Blaugrana senior squad in 2011 and since then he has made 63 appearances for the Catalan club, scoring 15 goals in the process.
However, he has found his opportunities limited this season and has confessed that he could eventually be forced to move elsewhere in search of regular game time.
"The goal is to gain a place in the starting line-up each week and then progress to be at the top. It’s always difficult, but you have to work hard," Tello told Sport.
"To get in this squad is a dream come true. To consider leaving the squad would be crude but if I have to leave [for more first-team opportunities], I will.
"However, if time passes and everything goes well, I have no problem [staying].”
Tello, who made his full international debut in his side’s 2-0 win over Ecuador in August, also acknowledged that with forwards such as Pedro, Neymar and Lionel Messi in the squad, he is quite far down the Barcelona pecking order.
"I would like to play as much as possible, but I know there are a lot of players in front of me," he acknowledged. "But I'm ready to play if necessary."
