Getafe have made a late deadline-day move to secure the services of Benfica defender Lisandro Lopez on a season-long loan.
The Portuguese giants signed the Argentine from Arsenal de Sarandi earlier this summer but have chosen to send him away from the Estadio da Luz to gain first-team experience.
A statement released on Getafe's official club website read: "We have reached an agreement with Benfica for the transfer of Lisandro Lopez for 2013-14."
Getafe coach Luis Garcia Plaza will hope that the Argentina international's arrival will help kickstart their Liga campaign, which has so far yielded a solitary point from their first three fixtures.
Earlier in the summer Lopez was linked with a host of top European clubs but Benfica acted first to clinch the signature of the highly rated defender.
