Hull agree fee with Evian for Sagbo

The 25-year-old forward, who netted six times in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season, is in England to finalise personal terms with Steve Bruce's newly-promoted side
Hull City have reached an agreement with Evian for the transfer of striker Yannick Sagbo, the French club have confirmed.

The 25-year-old forward, who scored six goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season, will now undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with Steve Bruce's side.

"It is not done and dusted yet but he [Sagbo] is in the country," Bruce told reporters on Friday.

"We are talking to him today, and we hope we can push it over the line in the next 24 to 48 hours.

"He is something different to what we have got. He is big, strong and powerful and he likes to run in behind a little bit, which we haven’t had a lot of."

Bruce has also compared Sagbo's physical presence to that of Christian Benteke, who impressed for Aston Villa in his debut Premier League season by scoring 19 goals.

“You look at Benteke before he went to Aston Villa, he didn’t have a prolific goalscoring record but he had all the attributes to play in the Premier League," Bruce said.

"He is big, strong, powerful and quick, and our boy is a little bit like that too."
