'I love life at Swansea' - Vorm plays down exit rumours

The Netherlands international says he is in no hurry to leave the Capital One Cup winners, and revealed that the entire Swans squad are enjoying life at the Liberty Stadium
Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm has played down rumours he could leave the club and says he is delighted with the progress the south Wales side have made.

The Dutch shot-stopper, who won the Capital one Cup with the Swans last season, has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United off the back of an impressive two seasons with Swansea.

But while Vorm admits being linked with clubs such as United is flattering, he is in no rush to leave the Liberty Stadium.

"There have been many rumours and stories about me in the last few years, but I have never been in a position to turn down an offer and I love life at Swansea," he told the South Wales Evening Post.

"The club are still making progress — the standards at training have been raised.

"We would obviously all like to play for Manchester United, but I am still young for a goalkeeper and I have many good years ahead of me.

"It's my ambition to ply my trade in English football for as long as possible.

"Maybe, at the end of my career, I will return to Holland, where there is only one club for me — FC Utrecht."

Vorm is not the only player enjoying his time at Swansea, with the Netherlands international revealing that the entire squad are content to remain at the Liberty Stadium.

"We keep growing as a club, but there is still a warm feeling here and that gives you a sound basis," Vorm continued. "I have not met any player in the dressing room yet who claims he is anxious to leave Swansea.

"Of course some lads want to raise their standards, but nobody dislikes playing here. It looks almost like once you have joined Swansea, you will never leave here."
