Chelsea target Bruma set for Sporting exit

The Portuguese starlet, who shone in the Under-20 World Cup, is in dispute with Sporting over the validity of his contract, and insists he will leave this summer

Chelsea and Galatasaray target Bruma looks set to leave Sporting Lisbon, with the player claiming he will not renew his contract.

The 18-year-old winger, who shone at the recent FIFA Under-20 World Cup, has been embroiled in a contract dispute with the Primeira Liga outfit over a renewal clause in his current deal.

The club maintain that there was a caveat in his contract that meant the deal would be renewed, a suggestion rejected by the player and his representatives.

According to Bruma, the outcome is settled and he will leave the Estadio Jose Alvalade this close-season.

"I deeply regret the outcome of this matter," he told A Bola

"I did everything to stay at Sporting and I made it clear to my representatives to try to reach an agreement. But after all this time, Sporting did little for me to renew.

"I want to avoid any sort of controversy with Sporting and especially with the fans. I am a professional and I will continue my career."

Bruma, who has also been a reported target of Galatasaray, finished the Under-20 tournament in Turkey as top scorer, with five from four games.
