Southampton allow Chaplow and Forren to leave

The duo made little impact on Mauricio Pochettino's first team last season, and have now been allowed to leave St Mary's as part of the Saints' transfer shake-up
Southampton have announced the departures of midfielder Richard Chaplow and defender Vegard Forren.

6/1 Southampton are 6/1 with William Hill to be relegated
Chaplow had been at the club since 2011, having previously spent three months on loan at St. Mary’s from West Brom in 2006, but made just three Premier League appearances last season.

He has now agreed to mutually terminate his contract, and is expected to move on a free transfer to Millwall, where he spent one month on loan last season.

Forren joined the Saints in a £4 million deal from Norwegian club Molde in January, but did not make a single appearance for the first team, and has now been allowed to rejoin his former club for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old played four games for the Under-21 squad, scoring against Liverpool, and was on the bench for seven Premier League fixtures.

Neither player featured in the plans of manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is attempting to shake up his squad with a number of big name signings, having already brought in Dejan Lovren for £8.5 million from Lyon.
