Norwich City target Alderweireld content with Ajax stay

The 24-year-old defender is wanted by the Carrow Road outfit but insists he will weigh up every offer he gets before making a decision on his future this summer
Norwich City target Toby Alderweireld insists he will not rush a decision regarding his future and maintains he would be happy to remain at Ajax.

12/5 Norwich are 12/5 with Coral to be relegated
The 24-year-old's agent confirmed Chris Hughton's side had made contact with the Dutch club regarding a transfer, but the defender will weigh up his offers before deciding where he will play next season.

"I'm happy at Ajax, so maybe I will stay another year," Alderweireld told AT5.

"I'm going to look at every offer I get and then I will make my decision. I won't say no right away, but I also won't say yes directly."

Alderweireld's contract with Ajax expires next summer but the Belgium international feels his side are not obliged to offload him this year.

"I don't have the feeling they want to get rid of me, so I don't expect that," he said.

"My new club has to fit me perfectly, otherwise I will stay at Ajax."
