Poll of the Day: Is Rooney good enough for Barcelona?

Gerard Pique believes the England international is good enough for the Spanish champions - but can you see him line up alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar?

With Wayne Rooney's future still unclear at Manchester United, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes the striker would 'fit well' with the Spanish champions.

“I know he has what's needed to be one of the three best players in the world. He'd fit well with Barcelona,” Pique told Sport.

“He is very versatile, strong, fast and has great technique. I don't think he would have any problems adapting.”

The 27-year-old has returned to pre-season training with United and is set to talks with manager David Moyes regarding his future at Old Trafford.

At the end of last season, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that Rooney had submitted his second transfer request in the space of three years, which has prompted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Goal exclusively revealed in June that Rooney would be open to the idea of moving to Arsene Wenger's side if his salary demands can be met.
