Bayern Munich reject talk of bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz

The club insist they are not chasing the Brazil defender, with reports suggesting the Champions League winners were preparing a big-money bid following the Confederations Cup
Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has dismissed reports linking the club with a swoop for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Reports had suggested the Champions League winners were preparing a big-money move for the Brazil international after a fine season in defence and midfield for the Blues.

But, when questioned by SID over a possible bid, Sammer simply replied: "No."

Meanwhile, Mario Gomez has been linked with a move away from Bayern, with Serie A outfit Fiorentina reportedly close to sealing an €18 million [£15.4m] deal for the forward.

However, Bayern have refuted those claims and insist they have yet to receive an offer that matches their valuation of the former Stuttgart player.

"As of now the club have not received a bid which we are satisfied with for Gomez,"  Sammer said.
