The Canaries manager worked with the young midfielder during his time at St Andrews and is eager to rekindle their relationship by bringing him to Carrow Road for the new season

Norwich manager Chris Hughton is hoping to sign Birmingham winger Nathan Redmond this summer.

The Canaries boss managed the 19-year-old during his time at St Andrews and is now keen to bring the England Under-21 international to the Premier League.

Hughton is fully aware of the potential Redmond has but insists the club will only make an announcement once a deal is completed.

"I worked with him at Birmingham. He has done very well and he is a very exciting young player," Hughton told Sky Sports News.

"But any progress that we make on any player, we will only notify you when any business has been done."

Redmond scored two goals and bagged six assists in 38 appearances for Birmingham last season, earning a call-up to Stuart Pearce's Young Lions squad for the European Under-21 Championship in Israel.
