"I know Pablo Hernandez and Michu already, while Chico and Angel Rangel are very important players here. I also played against [fellow new signing] Jose Canas last season in La Liga, so I know a lot about him.
"But it's not just that, or the fact Michael Laudrup is manager, it is the way in which the club play. The style here is perfect for me – it is the way I play."
Amat will meet up with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday, when the players report back for pre-season training, and the centre-back cannot wait to get started on the club's upcoming tour of Netherlands.
"We are going to Holland for the pre-season tour, which is great for me as I was there last summer while on loan at Rayo Vallecano," he added.
"My mother is Dutch, too, so I'm sure I'll have good support out there."
