thumbnail Hello,

Blues boss Lee Clark is hopeful that he can bring back the Newcastle and West Ham youngsters for a second season but is also cautious about blocking academy players' paths

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark is hopeful that Shane Ferguson and Ravel Morrison will return for second loan spells at the club from Newcastle and West Ham, respectively.

8/1 Birmingham City are 8/1 with BetVictor to be promoted from the Championship
Morrison, who joined West Ham from Manchester United in 2011, featured 27 times for the Blues last season, scoring three times, while Northern Ireland international Ferguson made 11 appearances after joining on loan in February.

And the positive impact of both has led Clark to attempt to take the pair on once again, despite his ideal wish to promote from within.

"How many more players? It's a tough one because, as you know and as I've shown in the past, I like to promote from within as well," the Blues boss told the Birmingham Mail.

"The scholars came in on Wednesday and I've sat down with them to throw down the gauntlet - why not you take the positions or have a go at taking the roles?

"There's that possibility but there's also a possibility in regards Shane Ferguson and Ravel Morrison.

"We're still in dialogue with Newcastle and West Ham . I would really like to get them but we've got to see."
