Rangers confirm Bocanegra and Goian exits

The Scottish Third Division champions announce the departures of the USA and Romania internationals, who spent last term on loan, their contracts mutually terminated a year early
Rangers have confirmed the departure of Dorin Goian and former USA captain Carlos Bocanegra.

Both players joined the Scottish giants in the summer of 2011, featuring regularly in the 2011-12 campaign, before the club's demotion to the bottom tier required a reduction of the wage bill.

Bocanegra spent last season on loan at Racing Santander, while Goian was temporarily at Spezia Calcio in Serie B, but both will now be looking for permanent clubs.

"After discussions in the last few days, both men are now free to pursue their careers elsewhere having terminated their deals in Glasgow a year early," the statement read on the club's official website.

The pair join the likes of Neil Alexander and Kane Hemmings in departing Rangers, who are preparing for their Scottish Second Division challenge, this summer.
