The 31-year-old has terminated his contract after a difficult season saw the Frenchman depart for Al-Gharafa on loan in January, while the Rs were relegated to the Championship
QPR were relegated from the Premier League last season despite appointing Harry Redknapp and lavishing funds on the likes of Loic Remy and Christopher Samba in a January splurge that could not keep the Rs in the top flight.
The club released a statement on Friday morning confirming that the 31-year-old would be a free agent as of July 1st.
"We would like to thank Djibril for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future," the statement read on the club's official website.
The France international, who joined QPR from Lazio for a reported £4 million back in January 2012, scored just 10 goals in 29 appearances for the club, and was red-carded twice, before being loaned out to Qatari side Al-Gharafa for the second half of last season.
