Talks between Arsenal & Real Madrid are at an advanced stage, says Higuain's father

Arsene Wenger's side have already agreed a contract with the Argentina international, although Serie A champions Juventus have also tabled a bid for the 25-year-old striker
Gonzalo Higuain's father has confirmed that talks between Real Madrid and Arsenal are at an "advanced stage" regarding the striker's transfer.

Goal revealed on Friday that Arsenal officials have travelled to Madrid in order to finalise a move for the 25-year-old.

6/1 Juventus are 6/1 with BetVictor to sign Gonzalo Higuain
Arsene Wenger's side are looking to tie up a deal for £20 million, while the Spanish club are looking for a figure of £25.5m. The Premier League club have already agreed a contract with Higuain that will start with a wage of £100,000-a-week.

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta hinted on Thursday that the Serie A champions could still sign the Real Madrid forward ahead of Arsenal, and the Argentine international's father insists that the deal with the Gunners remains incomplete.

“Nothing has yet been signed but I can assure the negotiations between the clubs are at an advanced stage," Jorge Higuain told La Repubblica.

"We will not agree any contract before the clubs reach a deal on the transfer.

"I am sure Arsenal made a big offer, as have Juventus."
