Gold: West Ham must bring in two quality strikers

The co-owner takes to Twitter to answer fans' questions, reassuring them that the Hammers will be in the market for more than one forward, with Andy Carroll and Demba Ba touted
West Ham co-owner David Gold says that the club must recruit "two quality strikers" this summer.

After Andy Carroll's return to Liverpool at the end of his loan spell and Carlton Cole's release from the squad, the Hammers are in need of reinforcement up front.

Carroll is manager Sam Allardyce's "first priority" in the transfer market, with Chelsea star Demba Ba also reportedly a familiar face who could rejoin on loan.

Gold took to his Twitter account to answer fans' questions and was asked whether they would sign another forward to go along with their pursuit of Carroll.

"Yes, we will," he wrote, before adding: "We must bring in two quality strikers."
