Dickov appointed new Doncaster manager

The former Manchester City striker was the unanimous choice of the board to succeed Brian Flynn, who stepped down just days after leading Rovers to the Championship
Paul Dickov has been appointed the new manager of Doncaster, the club have confirmed.

Dickov has been out of work since resigning from his post at Oldham in February, just six days after his side stunned Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round.

The former Manchester City and Blackburn striker replaces Brian Flynn, who stepped down as Rovers boss a matter of days after leading Rovers to automatic promotion to the Championship.

Flynn was involved in the search for his successor, and the board have revealed Dickov was the unanimous choice to succeed him after a rigorous selection process.
