Kei Kamara philosophical after 'win-win' Norwich loan ends

The Premier League side elected not to exercise their option to buy the forward, who says he is happy to stay in MLS after showing that he can play in England's top flight
Kei Kamara has revealed his delight at having proven himself in the Premier League following a "win-win" loan spell with Norwich, though is pleased to have returned to parent club Sporting Kansas City.

The 28-year-old had a positive impact for the Canaries during his short stay, though scored just once in 11 games, with the Norfolk outfit opting against buying him on a permanent basis.

But with Norwich's Premier League future still uncertain, Kamara is happy to have returned to Kansas having proven himself on a bigger stage and now free of the relegation woes that still plague the Canaries.

"I went over there just to prove myself, live my dream and show that I can play," the forward told reporters.

"After a few games went by and I was doing well, I was really happy about the situation but, at the same time, I knew that whatever happened, it was going to be a win-win. I'm sitting here and I can say that I'm home and be happy about it.

"I'm not surprised that it didn't happen. The club [Norwich] is not safe and, if they had picked up my option and been relegated, I could have been: 'Oh, maybe it's better for me to pick up and go back home'."

Now that he is back in MLS, Kamara insists that he has no regrets and is more than happy to play for Kansas for the foreseeable future.

"I said it before I went over there: It was a dream to go overseas and play but, if it never happened, I wouldn't have regretted it," he stated. "My dream was always that I wanted to play pro soccer, I'm playing professional soccer in America, in the top league in America, so I would never have regretted anything.

"No matter what happens in my career, this is definitely a place where I can see myself for years and years."
