The goalkeeper admits that he is flattered by reported interest from the Premier League leaders but insists that he is not looking to leave the Britannia Stadium

Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic insists that he is happy at Stoke City despite reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old was rumoured to be the focus of scouts from the Premier League leaders during Bosnia's 3-1 victory over Greece on Friday.

However, the former Portsmouth player is adamant that, despite being flattered by the supposed interest shown in him by Sir Alex Ferguson, he does not feel under pressure to up his level of performance and is concentrating fully on his role at the Britannia Stadium.

"I'm not under more pressure because United is watching me, I'm glad that they do because that means I'm doing something good. It gives me more motivation to do better and better," he told Sport.ba.

"I'm pleased that the big clubs are interested in me, but as I said many times - I'm happy at Stoke City because they gave me a chance to play in Premier League.

"We will see what will happen in the summer. In football you can never know 100 per cent what will happen."

Begovic also stated that defending champions Manchester City will find it very hard to catch their local rivals in the race for the Premier League title, with United having opened up a 15-point gap with just nine games to play.

He added: "It's hard to say that the race for the championship of England has not been decided. United is a large and experienced team which is quite a difference, and then three, four points, not alone 15.

"I think City will find it hard to catch United."
