Wenger: Sagna will be an Arsenal player until the club says otherwise

The 30-year-old French full-back's contract expires next summer but the Gunners boss is adamant he will stay with the club beyond the transfer window despite recent speculation
Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna will not be leaving the club at the end of the season, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

However, Wenger is confident the club will retain the services of Sagna who has enjoyed a six-year spell at the Emirates, scoring four goals.

"He is not free in the summer so he can only leave if we let him go. Our desire is to keep him and he knows it," Wenger told reporters.

The France international has had a dip in form since being one of the best right-backs in the Premier League in recent years, following two leg breaks within the space of a year.

Sagna is set to miss the Gunners' game against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday due to a knee injury, but it is not a serious problem.
