The Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain is eager for first-team football and has been on the radar of several clubs who want the defender on a temporary loan move

A host of Championship clubs are lining up for the signature of Everton defender Shane Duffy, Goal.com can reveal.
The 21-year-old centre0back, who has made just two appearances for the Toffees this season, is keen on a temporary move away from Goodison Park and has been on the radar of several clubs seeking to sign the Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain on loan.
Duffy recently revealed that a short-term move to Middlesbrough at the beginning of the season fell through because David Moyes wanted the Derry-born defender to remain at the club as back up to Sylvain Distin, Phil Jagielka and Netherlands international John Heitinga.

However, Moyes' unwillingness to let Duffy leave the club on a temporary basis has not deterred several suitors from monitoring the Irish defender and Goal.com understands that Wolves and Blackburn Rovers are among the clubs hoping to secure the defender's services until the end of the season.
Wolves have been struggling in the Championship this season and are seeking to shore up their defence as they face a relegation battle. Representatives from both clubs are believed to have been in attendance as Duffy captained the Under-21s to a 3-0 victory against the Netherlands at Tallaght Stadium on February 6.
Now 21, Duffy, who has previously had two loan spells at Burnley and Scunthorpe respectively, has admitted his frustration at his lack of first-team opportunities and is hoping to clock up more game time away from Goodison Park, but has yielded to the experience of his manager, David Moyes.
"It's been frustrating," the defender told reporters. "You've just got to be patient and I have been patient to be honest."
He added: "I'm just going to wait. I trust the manager, he knows what he's doing with me so I'm going to let him do the right thing by me."
Duffy joined Everton aged 16 from Derry-based club Foyle Harps and made his debut for the club at 17, during the 1-0 away victory against AEK Athens in the Europa League in 2009. He has gone on to make just nine appearances in total for the Toffees.
