'I'm happy for Milan & Balotelli' - Ibrahimovic backs striker's move from Manchester City

The Rossoneri's former forward says that he is happy that the club have signed the 22-year-old Italy international, with Robinho and Stephan El Shaarawy also expressing their joy

Former AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is happy that his old club have signed Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli joined from Manchester City for around €23.4 million [£20m] and Ibrahimovic, now at Paris Saint-Germain, believes he will prove to be a fine addition to the Rossoneri.

The Sweden striker told Sky Sports 24: "Thiago Silva and I are happy that things are going well at Milan. I'm happy for Milan and for Balotelli. I can only say positive things about Milan, it is a great club."

Robinho also welcomed his new team-mate to the Rossoneri and hopes that he can improve the side.

He told the Milan Channel: “We await Mario Balotelli with open arms. We hope he can have a great season here at Milan.”

The Brazil international was not the only Milan player welcoming the new arrival with Stephan El Shaarawy also tweeting his approval.

El Shaarawy wrote: “Welcome Mariooooo!!! I am so happy with his arrival!”
