The 28-year-old has been told he is surplus to requirements by boss Paul Lambert, so is now joining Los Bermellones on a temporary move until the end of the season
Los Bermellones, currently second from bottom in La Liga, retain the right to purchase the right-back on a permanent deal during the temporary spell.
Hutton was a first-team regular last season under previous boss Alex McLeish but, following Paul Lambert’s appointment in the summer, was told he was surplus to requirements at the start of the 2012-13 season.
The 28-year-old was subsequently sent on a two-month loan to Championship side Nottingham Forest, making seven appearances.
Real Mallorca will be hoping Hutton can provide some much-needed defensive cover after losing their last three league games.
