Thiago Silva rules out Barcelona move

The defender insists he has no plans to force through a move to the Blaugrana and will honour his current deal with the Ligue 1 champions
Paris Saint-Germain star Thiago Silva has stressed he has no desire to force through a transfer to Barcelona this summer.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to the Blaugrana for some weeks, although his agent confirmed on Monday that the Brazil international would see out his current contract in France.

Silva has since issued a statement through his advisors declaring his commitment to Laurent Blanc's side, insisting that rumours he would meet the club's hierarchy to demand a move are false.

"I saw the news that I would travel to a meeting with the president and new coach of PSG to discuss a possible transfer," read the statement according to Marca. "That will not happen, because I will complete my contract I have with the club, as I feel I have always done."

The former AC Milan defender signed a five-year deal at Parc des Princes only 12 months ago following his €42 million (£36.4m) switch from San Siro in the summer of 2012.
