While many have questioned the quality of football in the competition, the FIFA World Cup 2010 has been hailed for its colour and passion, in the stands and on the streets.

The first ever World Cup to be held in Africa has been a resounding success off the pitch, and to mark the occasion we asked Goal.com UK readers which nation's fans were the best of the tournament.
African teams were always going to figure highly on the poll, and Ghana came out on top in what was a tight contest, with 14.88 per cent of the votes, while hosts South Africa received 7.96 per cent.
One of the reasons pundits gave for Holland reaching the final was their huge following in South Africa, and the beaten finalists polled 12.8 per cent, seeing the Dutch finish runners-up once more.
Germany were third with 8.65 per cent, while England fans didn't let their country down with 7.6 per cent.
You also thought that the Socceroos and the All Whites lit up the tournament, with Australia receiving 5.54 per cent, and New Zealand 6.23 per cent.
Both France and Italy suffered embarrassing exits from the competition, and their poll results will do little to raise morale in Paris or Rome. The crumbling former champions picked-up 2.08 per cent of your support, a low figure, but somewhat larger than Les Bleus, and their tally of, well, nothing.
Surprisingly, the South American nations, famous for their Latin flavour and colour when it comes to football fans, failed to challenge the frontrunners.
Brazil received only 1.38 per cent of your vote, Argentina 3.11 per cent, and beaten fourth place finishers Uruguay, just 1.04 per cent.
But without further ado, we present you with your winners of the Goal.com UK ‘Best Fans of the Finals’ World Cup poll, Ghana!
