World Cup 2010: Spain midfielders Xabi Alonso & Sergio Busquets delighted with triumph over Netherlands
Historic win for Spaniards...
By Paul Madden
Andres Iniesta got the only goal of the game in the second half of extra-time, prompting Alonso to label the Barcelona man as his nomination for the tournament's Golden Ball.
"It's incredible. It's difficult to expain, it's a euphoria, a joy.... Andres Iniesta is the Golden Ball," said the Real Madrid player to AS after the match.
Barcelona player Busquets took the opportunity to dedicate the win to his family and friends, saying that he cannot wait to get back to Spain and celebrate the World and European champions' historic success.
"Football owed this to Spain," he said. "I dedicate it to all my friends, my whole family, to those who have not been here.
"This World Cup we will stay with us forever. I still cannot believe it. I just can't wait to go back to Spain now and enjoy this with our people."
