World Cup 2010: Spain add FIFA fair play award to their overall triumph

La Furia Roja hailed for impeccable disciplinary record...
Newly-crowned World Cup winners Spain have also won the FIFA Fair Play award for their exemplary disciplinary record during the tournament.

Vicente del Bosque's side accumulated 889 points from their seven matches, enough to win outright the award they shared with Brazil in 2006. They only picked up eight bookings over the course of the competition, despite the rather ill-tempered final against the Netherlands.

The award is not solely based on bookings, however, but also displays of sportsmanship on and off the pitch, as judged by FIFA's Technical Study Group (TSG).

North Korea actually topped the table for bookings — picking up just two, albeit in only three games they played during the tournament.
