Do you think that Del Bosque should keep faith with his winning eleven? Or should he make a change for the final?
Goal.com UK suggests the players who could tempt the head coach into shuffling his pack ahead of Sunday’s grand finale in Johannesburg...
So who could you bring in...
Well, for starters there’s Fernando Torres, who with 29 goals in 74 appearances for his country, is sixth in the list of Spain’s all-time leading goalscorers. It was also Torres’ goal that secured the Euro 2008 Championships in Vienna, in a 1-0 victory.
Or perhaps an extra playmaker is what you’d opt for, and there are few better than Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. The 23-year-old has featured in 93 minutes of Spain’s World Cup campaign in South Africa, and created 19 goals for his team-mates last season, during the course of 41 matches.
Perhaps some added width is what the Spanish require, and Sevilla winger Jesus Navas could get your vote. The nimble 24-year-old has pace to burn, and played the pass to assist Villa’s second goal in a 2-0 victory over Honduras.
Could you intimidate the Dutch back-line by adding a big man to the ranks? If so, look no further than Fernando Llorente. At six feet five inches tall, the Athletic Bilbao strike is very much the ‘different option’ for Del Bosque, and the target man has scored three goals in eight appearances for his country.
Could David Silva be the man? With 38 caps and seven goals to his name, Manchester City’s new signing offers another attacking option for the Spanish, and on the back of another successful La Liga season, in which he scored eight times, and created seven assists for Valencia.
So who, if anyone, would you bring into the Spanish starting eleven for Sunday’s final against Holland?
