The Spaniards defeated the Germans to make their first World Cup final
Spain performed brilliantly against the Germans, dominating play for much of the match and winning 1-0 on a Carles Puyol header with a quarter of a hour to play.
Xavi believes that a similar performance against the Dutch in the World Cup final on Sunday will see the Spaniards crowned as the world champions.
"I'm happy. It was deserved. The team did a great job. We dominated the match. The Spanish personality imposed itself,” Xavi told The Mirror.
"We had control of the game and imposed ourselves, particularly in the second half when we had the ball all the time. We played as we wanted to and were worthy winners.
"It's a final now against Holland, a team playing great football.
"We'll have to impose our personality and football on them. If we play like we did today, we'll have a great chance. We dedicate this victory to Spain. Let's enjoy the final."
Spain’s impressive victory is a repeat of the outcome of the Euro 2008 final, when Fernando Torres’ splendid first-half goal was enough to earn the Spaniards the European championship two years ago.
