President Mujica watched the game at an auditorium in Montevideo along with several other ministers and around 2000 young athletes.

"Uruguay played with great dignity. It was a beautiful game. Five minutes more and we might have drawn,"
Terra quoted the 75-year-old as saying after the match.

"It was amazing, the guys were sensational."
