thumbnail Hello,

The Dutch coach made it clear that Oranje have set their sights on the trophy...

Netherlands put in an outstanding performance in Friday's World Cup quarter-final match against Brazil and eventually recorded a 2-1 win to book their ticket for the semi-finals.

Head coach Bert van Marwijk was very pleased with the win, but made it clear that the Dutch are not done yet in South Africa.

"We somehow failed to play our own game before the break. We slowly improved after about 25 minutes of play, but we had every reason to be satisfied that we were trailing by only one goal at half-time," said Van Marwijk to NOS.

"We showed what we're capable of in the second half. We could have made four or five goals after the interval. Gergory van der Wiel is just one of the players who struggled in the first 45 minutes, but showed much more initiative in the second part of the match.

"I already said it before the start of this World Cup and I will repeat it now: We are here to win the tournament. People were laughing about this a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still confident that we can go all the way."
