World Cup 2010: USA star Landon Donovan disappointed with 'naive' display against Ghana
LA Galaxy striker still proud of his side...
By Rick D'Andrea
Donovan scored an equalising goal for the Stars and Stripes in the second half, but it wasn't enough, as the Group C winners were eventually knocked out of the tournament, losing 2-1.
"We were a little naive tonight and at this level you can't do that," said Donovan to reporters after the game.
"It is frustrating considering all the work we have put in.
"I'm proud of what the team has done. Football is a cruel game sometimes."
"One minute you are on top of the world, the next minute you are at the bottom of the mountain," he added.
