Players can't hear each other...Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero has echoed Lionel Messi assertion that the noise created by vuvuzelas is hampering on-field communications between players.
The 23-year-old AZ Alkmaar custodian declared that when trying to speak with team-mates it is difficult to be heard amidst the din coming from the spectators, Sport reports. Romero, like Messi, was adamant that the instrument was at fault for Martin Demichelis' error against the Koreans in Johannesburg.
"When you talk you are not heard. I was screaming at two of our defenders and they could not hear me," Romero declared, in relation to the goal South Korea scored shortly before half-time in Argentina's 4-1 win.
"Also there have been times when defenders tell me to come out looking for a ball and I am just looking at them. Then I have to apologise and say that I really couldn't hear them."
